I'm looking for some reviews. How were the islands?
Thanks everyone!
Answer :
Yes I have but the islands change and multiple ships go to multiple islands so you could get reviews of the islands without being on the Destiny. Personally the Destiny was one of my least favorite ships on the Carnival line. We did it for my honeymoon and I thought the quality on the Inspiration class of ships was much higher.
If you want a review of the ship, go to cruisecritic.com. I thought the layout of the ship was confusing and difficult to get around. The layout of the pool made it difficult to get chairs. It's a tiered style more like a coliseum or ampitheater so only a couple chairs per level and hard for waiters to walk by. I had to get up to go to the bar each time.
When I was on the Destiny we went out of PR, to Aruba, Barbados, Dominica, and St Thomas. Dominica was my least favorite of ALL Caribbean islands. It's tiny with nothing to do and only one shore excursion which lead several thousand people on a trail to a waterfall. Well when a thousand people are there it is neither beautiful nature or calm and peaceful. We had just a few seconds before being shuffled back and no chance of seeing any wildlife. St Thomas is one of my favorite islands. I've been there several times and each time find something new to see and do. There are tons of shops--great deals on jewelry and on alcohol (unless you are going to St Martin, alcohol is cheapest there).
If you want a review of the islands, what islands are you going to? What shore excursions are you thinking about?
Answer :
I went on the Destiny, I thought it was a beautiful ship, the layout is indeed a bit confusing, it took me 3 days to learn the correct route to the dining room. But I enjoyed the ship because like 80% of the rooms are balconies so it was a unique looking ship. The ports do change, when I went it was San Juan, St. Thomas, Barbados, Dominica, St. Lucia, Antigua, they were all beautiful and had their own flair.
