Are there sufficient teen activities on the new Carnival Destiny ship?

In April I will be going on a five-day cruise on the new Carnival Destiny ship. I'll be traveling with a school trip, and we're all high school students. Are we going to be able to go out to dance and stuff, are there special teen sets at the spa? Specifically for that, how much will a spa day/halfday cost?

Answer :
For 13- to 17-year olds, there's a teen version of Camp Carnival, featuring a teen casino night, "coketail" parties, make-overs and fashion tips from the salon and photography workshops which have been added to enhance the teen program.

Carnival Destiny is the first of Carnival Cruise Lines' five Destiny-class liners. This ship has some of the best nightlife at sea, with entertainment for every taste and age group. Carnival Destiny also boasts one of the largest casinos afloat and a spacious spa and fitness center. Guests will find a huge variety of entertainment and dining options, excellent food, spacious and comfortable cabins, friendly and professional service, and an exceptional value for the dollar.

Spa: A massage is typically around $90 - $110. Take advantage of ship discounts on port days. Most shipboard spas are operated by Steiner's of London, and the staff, who works on commission, often gives you a sales pitch (they sometimes even call it a "prescription") that calls for you to buy several of their products.

Savings Tip: If you get a sales pitch and do not want the products, just smile and say you will think about it and get back to them. Or be bold right up front -- and ask not to be bothered with sales pitches at all. Another tip: check your ship's daily program of activities for ads for spa treatment specials that may be available one day only or during certain hours of a given day.

What is important to remember on Carnival Destiny cruise?

In March I am going on a cruise with the Juniors and Seniors of my high school band via Carnival cruise lines. We will be on the ship Carnival Destiny!!! This is my very first cruise. I am 17 years old and I do not know what to expect.

So... What is to expect on Carnival Destiny?
What is there to do for teenagers?
What should I take with me?
~TIPS TIPS TIPS~

Answer :
Do's- Keep informed of the Daily events schedule!
Find one as soon as you get onboard. Try to establish how your table arrangements are being made and always opt for the dinning room as opposed to the banquet deck lunch, better service, more quality time with your friends and it is where you'll get the best advice from you waiter as to what to do ashore.

Do's- Think outside the group if you find someone that is like minded and find a place away from the group. (You will find this more challenging than you may think, just try to be alone, I personally challenge you. Remeber your not being "paranoid" if someone is actually following you!

A ship is a small villiage and eyes are everywhere, stockers will have little or no difficulty finding you unless you are aware and can quickly dissapear, this is why you "must" be aware of the scheduling so you can quickly avoid the crushing sound of the "maddening crowd". Once you have found a "like minded" travel companion you can use the schedule to attend the events you wish to (get a good watch set to onboard time and sync) familaries yourself with the various places on the ship well in advance. You will find these "deckplans" on line under Carnival Crusies. This is the way you and your friend will be able to steal away from the events separately and redevous at a pre determined spot before you make your finial escape.

Don't- Don't Drink too much, not at all would be better! It is completely overated and some things are much more fun if your sober.

Do's-Watch out for the drunks especially your drunk sisters, they will thank you later!

Don't- Have anything to do with Cruise staff entertainers, Crew members or member of the culinary\kitchen staff. It's your vacation and you simply provide them with entertainment while their earning money, it is after all "YOUR VACTION EXPERIENCE NOT THEIRS"

Do's-Place your passport (if one is necessary) with the ships chief pursure. Maintain a copy of your passport on your person whenever you leave the ship.

Did I mention Don't-Don't Drink too much?

Do's-Watch people make fools of themselves while drinking too much!
Watch love affairs and boy friend\girl friends destroy their relationships because they've drank too much!
Observe how the Alpha Male and Female that generally coexist beautifully destroy each other while drinking too much.
I highly recommend crashing a "Bill W" event generally on the ship board weekly schedule, you' ll probably find your band leader or chaparons at the meeting.

Be aware that the laws protecting you on land are left to the interpretation of investigators and the ships captain. This should concern young women in the case of any allegation with regard to rape.

The Sea is beautiful, the ship is beautiful, the service is beautiful, my Nikon is beautiful.

Make nice memories that you can remember.

Oh! You can expect the Senior boys to hit on you and your best looking friends in the Junior Class the ones they have been having nothing to do with until now. No it's not the sea Air!

safetymax out!

Answer :
First off, remember that the drinks they try to give you when you get on the boat are NOT free! :D Ok, you can't drink, so on to sound advice....

A lot of its going to be about sunbathing and playing in the pool. If you're not into that, there's always plenty of food on the Lido deck and room service round the clock. Night time is fun b/c the clubs open up. You and your friends should be able to pack the under 21 club. You can learn more about your boat on the Carnival website. Outside of that, just don't do anything stupid in a foreign country when you dock and be back before the boat leaves port.

As for what you should take? Well, heavy sunscreen and aloe. The sun is more penetrating down there then you would think. Good idea, is to visit the Homeland Security website for travel tips and requirements for certain items and liquids. I know...that's boring, but you'll thank me when the fuzz is confiscating your friends stuff and not yours b/c you followed the rules. No joke :)

Answer :
I went on the Carnival Imagination, and it was a great experience.
During the day for teens they have cheesy activities, I mainly hung out by the pool and hot tub. At night they have discos and dance parties, and go to shows as a part of the teen club.

Bring a bikini and some tanning lotion, you'll need it (:

HAVE FUN!

Answer :
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Carnival Destiny ?

I'm going on the Carnival Destiny in a week and I wanted to know if I'm 15 can I still go on Spa Carnival? I look like I'm older than 15 and I'm less than a month away from being 16 so could I get away with it? I have a few other questions also if you wouldn't mind:

Is there a movie theatre? What types of movies do they play?

Is there a golf course? Do you need to bring your own golf clothes?

The shore excursions are kind of expensivel, can you get cheaper excursions on the island?

Im going to the Southern Carribean. Can I swim with Dolphins?

Is the Club for teenagers fun or no?

Finally do the spas have mud baths or anything free?

Answer :
You can go to the Carnival website to get a list of what amenities are on the ship [movie theater, etc].

They wouldn't have golf on the ship, of course, but at some ports you can do a golf excursion.

You can do your own excursions on any of the islands, but some are easier or safer to do this on than others. The only islands on your itinerary that I've been to are St. Thomas and Dominica. StT is pretty easy to do on your own, provided you've done your research and know what vendors to use, where to go, etc. In Dominica, there is a really neat "canopy tour/zipline course" that you can probably only do through the ship [we did it independently because our ship didn't offer it]. It's really an adventure - very challenging, but fun! St. Kitt and St. Lucia are both ports which I've read are doable on your own but can be somewhat unsafe. If you do go on your own, you need to be SURE and get back to ship on time, as they will leave without you if you're late, unless you're on one of their tours.

NOTHING in the spa is free.

Don't know anything about the teen club, except that it's supposedly a good idea to at least go the first day, just to meet some of the other kids.

For lots of great info, especially about the ports, go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards", then go to "Ports of Call" or any of the other boards that interest you.

Have a great cruise. And be sure and allow plenty of time to get to and through the airport in San Juan - I've read that it can be a real zoo on cruise days.
